How to Bulk Import Rental Products

Bulk import is the fastest way to turn existing Shopify products into rental products.

Set your defaults first

Before importing, review your default rental settings. These can include rental durations, stock method, inventory count, bond, cleaning fee and the calendar booking window.

Import your products

  1. Open The Dress Rental App.
  2. Go to the rental product import area.
  3. Select the Shopify products you want to import.
  4. Confirm the import.

The app will apply your current default rental configuration to the products being added.

After importing

Review a sample of the imported products, especially products with multiple sizes or variants. Adjust any item that needs different pricing, inventory or fees from your store defaults.

Bulk import vs automatic import

Bulk import is designed for products that already exist in Shopify. Automatic product import is useful for future products: once enabled, it watches for newly created products with the exact Product Type you have configured.

Important: Configure your defaults before a large import. This reduces the amount of product-by-product editing required afterwards.
