THE START-UP GUIDE

Rental durations control how long customers can hire an item and can be used alongside different rental prices.

Choose the durations you offer

Common examples include short event hires and longer rental periods. Choose durations that match your business operations, shipping times and return process.

Set your defaults

Configure your standard rental durations in The Dress Rental App before importing a large number of products. This helps new rental products start with consistent settings.

Override when required

Some products may need different durations or pricing. Review those products individually rather than changing your store-wide defaults for a small exception.

Consider turnaround time separately

The customer-facing rental duration is not the same as your operational buffer. You may still need time before or after a booking for dispatch, return postage and cleaning.

Test your storefront

Select each duration on a rental product and confirm the displayed dates and price match what customers should be charged.

Tip: Keep duration names simple and consistent so customers can understand their choices quickly.
